ABOUT US

Our Story

NOCC, originally known as the H&L Music Studio, was founded by the concert pianist Dr. Wenjing Liu, with artistic advisor Dr. John Hallberg. Students of NOCC have received multiple prizes and rewards, including high praise in solo piano competitions including the Diamond Bar Music Contest, Kathryn Gawartin Chopin Piano Competition, MTNA Competitions, Los Angeles International Competition, and California State Honor Bands to name just a few. Students that have graduated from our school have been accepted by top universities and colleges across the United States.

Our Mission

North Orange County Conservatory is devoted to providing the highest level, most comprehensive, up-to-date, and motivational music education to individuals of all ages interested in studying music. Whether a student wants to learn for fun, or prepare for college auditions, competitions, or festivals, NOCC strives to offer individual/group instruction which guides the student in how to not only play their instrument at the highest of levels, but to learn how to love and appreciate music and art in order to become a competent player, arts-love, and human-being.

Curriculum and Philosophy

European, Asian, and American classical techniques of music are the main foundation of NOCC's school curriculum. Students will learn how to play their instruments though music theory, ear-training, music appreciation, and motivational repertoire. We focus on developing students’ musicality and technical skills at the same time.
